Modern Slavery Statement for Rubbish Collection Stockwell
Rubbish Collection Stockwell is committed to conducting all aspects of its operations in an ethical, responsible, and transparent manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and our supply chains. It applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers engaged by Rubbish Collection Stockwell.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour in any form. Modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights and is entirely incompatible with our values as a local waste management and rubbish collection provider.
We expect the same high standards from all parties we work with. Any individual or organisation performing services on our behalf must comply with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws. Where we identify a risk, we will act quickly and decisively to address it, up to and including terminating contracts where appropriate.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Rubbish Collection Stockwell provides waste management, rubbish removal, and associated environmental services to residential and commercial clients. Our supply chains include providers of vehicles and equipment, fuel suppliers, personal protective equipment and uniform suppliers, facilities services, and temporary labour agencies.
We recognise that certain sectors of our supply chain, particularly those involving manual labour and outsourced services, can carry a higher risk of modern slavery. As a result, we focus our due diligence and monitoring efforts in these areas.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are developing and maintaining supplier standards that clearly set out our expectations in relation to modern slavery and ethical conduct. All new suppliers are assessed against these standards before being approved. Wherever possible, our contracts include clauses requiring compliance with anti-slavery legislation and with our zero-tolerance policy.
We undertake proportionate supplier audits, which may include document reviews, questionnaires, and where practical, site visits. These audits focus on the use of labour, working conditions, recruitment practices, and the presence of appropriate policies and training. If non-compliance or serious risk is identified, we work with the supplier to agree a corrective action plan and monitor progress. Continued non-compliance may result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, contractors, and suppliers to speak up if they have any concerns about modern slavery in our operations or supply chains. Concerns can be reported directly to line managers, senior management, or our designated compliance contact. Reports may be made confidentially, and we will treat all disclosures sensitively and fairly.
We do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. All reports will be investigated promptly, and appropriate corrective or remedial action will be taken where issues are substantiated.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to building awareness of modern slavery risks across our organisation. Relevant employees receive training on recognising indicators of exploitation, responsible procurement, and how to report concerns. We also communicate our expectations to suppliers so that they understand their obligations and our standards.
We aim to continuously improve our controls by learning from audits, investigations, and industry best practice. Where needed, we will update our policies, procedures, and training materials to strengthen our approach.
Monitoring and Annual Review
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by our senior management team to ensure it remains relevant, effective, and aligned with legal requirements. As part of the review, we consider any identified incidents, audit findings, supplier feedback, and changes in risk across our supply chains.
Following each annual review, we will update this statement and our supporting procedures as necessary. Rubbish Collection Stockwell remains fully committed to preventing modern slavery in all its forms and to operating a transparent, responsible, and ethical business for the benefit of our staff, customers, and the wider community.
